plein air from Christmas Day. I had received a new umbrella that attaches to my tripod easel. I went out into the backyard of my parents-in-law. They had this great tree full of energy. I just loved it.

Oil on panel. 8x10 inches.

This is beautiful! I love the colour theme, and how you capture the essence of it with what feels like jealously-evoking ease. I love the raw feel; full of energy or other, this tree makes me think of wild woods and getting lost in them, between those strong, passionate brush strokes. When I grow up I dream of painting like this :)

If anyone could live off painting nowadays, I'd declare the world a better place. That said, why don't you try to sell them? Etsy, or even here in Deviant, might work. And there might be a good market for artistic, oil-made geek art; I mean - imagine how cool it is to have a perfect oil painting of a Storm Trooper hanging in one's living room...

Also, I might not have said so before, but your style is probably where I wish my art could go one day. The rough, non sweetly-polished look, the expert brushstrokes - it all feels very... sincere. If you have tutorials anywhere, I'll gladly pay for those.

i'm working on it. trying to figure some things out with what i have on hand before i get some better equipment. i'm planning on doing a demo this saturday with awesome horse studios (www.awesomehorsestudios.com). drop in if you can. i might be testing during the week too on my own livestream. so, dig into my social media links and follow me.
